Stage 2 of the Santa Maria College master plan - the Year 9 & 10 Learning Village is now completed.
The Year 9 & 10 Learning Village is a new two-storey building nestled within an extensive landscape, including a Yarning Circle and native sensory garden.
The learning areas have been designed to emphasise indoor and outdoor learning, making use of flexible spaces that encourage collaboration and small gatherings.
A central breakout space within the building holds a feature stair that connects the two levels of the building, while a glass and fluted masonry façade allows views to the oval and the Dandenongs, as well as taking design inspiration from the curves of the adjacent 1970s Chapel building.
An undercroft car park expands staff car parking capabilities for the school site.
Facilities include:
2 x levels of learning spaces
12 general learning space
break out spaces on each level
built-in lockers
staff and student amenities
new landscaped forecourt and outdoor learning spaces
undercroft parking for staff
