A new family and early years children’s hub integrate three community organisations along with maternal & child health and family day services. To achieve governance and management integration, WRA worked with Council and Murdoch Institute’s Centre for Community Child Health on a change management program, developing the Functional Brief and Concept Design with staff and community representatives.

The Childcare, Preschool and Toy Library were combined with Council’s Family Day Care services, Maternal and Child Health Service, and a variety of paraprofessionals in the delivery of integrated services under the Child First legislation.

Future proofing was a key goal for the project, with WRA designing seven children's rooms for day-care and preschool which are openable to one another to allow for enrolment and staffing flexibility, and a sub-divisible function room and courtyard sized as future children's room. The generous entry foyer and reception also allows for a cafe operation.
